Anansi Tek (MIT) APP Inventor Bootcamp
The Anansi TEK Club has built the INDABA African History Challenge App for the INDABA 2016.

We are conducting a community coding Bootcamp is on, Saturday May 21 2016 @ Woodgreen Community Services, 1533 Victoria Park Ave, Scarborough from 10am – 5pm.

<pOur Guest speaker is Darren Baptiste, a renowned IT entrepreneur. He is the devealoper of the very popular and sorely needed app Cop Watch. He will be engaging us in a discussion about the creative process of software development and his experiences.

We will be learning to use the MIT APP inventor 2 which is the platform we will be building our app.  MIT APP inventor 2 is a web/cloud based application, so we will be working on internet connected workstations.

This is an Android development platform, so if you have an android device please bring it so that we can run the app on the your device. For those who do not have an android we will be using desktop simulators.

11:00am – Intro to AppInventor 2 interface
Setup accounts on App Inventor 2.
Connecting android phones to App inventor 2
12:00pm – Test App 1: I Have a Dream app. Malcolm and Martin soundboard.  Everyone builds a version of this app.
01:00pm – Lunch
13:30pm – Creating and Managing a Wiki
02:30pm – User Interface design exploration
03:00pm – Test App 2: Build version of Quiz app  and test.
04:00pm – Wrap up and prep for production of Anansi TEK African History Challenge app.
